Carrie Underwood is going to take over for Katy Perry in the next new season of the show "American Idol," which is scheduled to begin soon. On the other hand, a recent report stated that the singer is working under a tremendous amount of pressure that has the potential to throw her life into disarray.

“This isn’t going to be an easy transition. There are plenty of people who want to see her fall. The pressure is putting Carrie at risk of throwing her life into chaos! And there’s already a ton of bitching and knife sharpening going on ahead of her arrival,” an unnamed source told The National Enquirer.

In the fall of this year, the singer known for her hit song "Before He Cheats" is scheduled to begin filming the "American Idol" Season 23. For starters, Carrie’s career was established when she won the fourth season of the popular American reality singing competition in 2005.

Luke Bryan, who will be joining Carrie on the judges panel along with Lionel Richie, has hinted that she may need to "double up" on her therapy appointments in order to "deal with" her new role. However, this is not a joke!

“This is a huge step up for Carrie as far as putting herself out there to Middle America and she’s being paid handsomely for it, but she’s under no illusions that it’s going to be easy. The level of stress that will come along with this is immense!,” the anonymous insider told the entertainment news outlet.

The majority of Katy Perry's fans, if not all of them, are aware that she was subjected to scrutiny in the past before she left the show after a staggering seven editions. “Things got very rough for Katy in the end, so of course that’s got to worry Carrie. She’s going to need a very thick skin!” the informant claimed.

There is no assurance that Carrie will achieve the same level of success as Kelly Clarkson, who is also a former contestant on "American Idol," who has had roaring success serving as a judge on "The Voice."

“The bosses are relieved to have a glamorous country star of her caliber on board, plus she has the history with the show. But the big question here is whether she’s got the temperament to handle pressure, as the bosses are banking on her to hit the ground running and deliver big ratings. Plus, there’s how she reacts to the inevitable online trolling,” the tipster explained.

Business Times previously reported that Carrie's workaholic tendencies have caused a great deal of conflict in her marriage to Mike Fisher, a former professional hockey player. As she spends more time away from him and their children, Isaiah, 9, and Jacob, 5, her friends are concerned that the situation may become even more difficult.

“The fear is that it could cause major family strain. But Carrie was never going to say no to this. It’s a job of a lifetime,” the mole said.
