As they strolled into a school event in Brentwood together last week, Ben Affleck and his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner, appeared to be approaching each other unusually closely. They were huddled together and giggling. In the meantime, Jennifer Lopez, Ben's other ex-girlfriend, arrived at the same event with the couple in a distinct manner.
"Jen and Ben will always look comfortable together because, simply put, they are," an insider told Woman's Day Australia of the inextricable history of the exes, which has seen them negotiate rehabilitation, divorce, and co-parent their three children together over the previous nine years.
"They're united as parents and it's in Jen's interest to make sure the father of her kids gets through this divorce with J.Lo as easily as possible," the source continued.
Even though Jen, who is 52 years old, maintains a profile with her longstanding lover, John Miller, sources claim that he is still very much present in the scene, and if anything, it is more severe than it has ever been.
"It looks like Jen is ready to settle down with John,” the source said. "Ben and Jen know they'll never go back there and he genuinely likes John, who treats Jen the way she should be treated.”
"She deserves happiness and Ben's not going to stand in the way of that," the insider continued.
On the other hand, according to another source, the 46-year-old businessman has experienced feelings of unease regarding his girlfriend "running to Ben's side" ever since the actor's breakup with J Lo, who filed for divorce in August.
They said: "John's argument is that Ben's an adult and should figure it out without impinging on their life."
The divorce between the “The 13 Going On 30” star and Ben, which was formalized three years after the couple had separated in 2015, brought an end to a turbulent relationship that was characterized by Ben's battles with substance addiction and gambling, as per IMAGE Magazine.
Because they have kept a significant portion of their "quiet" relationship hidden from the public eye, Miller, whom Jen started seeing in 2018, has given stability to the star's life. Jen, who has children with the “Argo” star, including Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12, has constantly shown her problematic ex extraordinary grace, RadarOnline reported.
After their divorce, she said, "He's the most brilliant person in any room... he's just a complicated guy."
