Page Six has revealed that Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively will not be attending the Golden Globes on Sunday. Reynolds received a nomination for his role in "Deadpool & Wolverine." Marvel Studios is responsible for producing the movie, which has earned a total of $1.33 billion around the world and has been nominated for an award in the category of cinematic and box office success.
According to Deadline, alongside Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, who also starred in the film, will not be present at the awards presentation that will take place in Los Angeles. A source said that Reynolds and Lively's decision to forego the Globes was made long in advance of their legal drama with Justin Baldoni and is unrelated to the incident. The source did not provide any specific reasons for their absence.
Furthermore, Lively's most recent film, "It Ends With Us," is not being considered for an award, and she was not in the plans to give a presentation at the ceremony. Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni, accusing him of harassment, and subsequently sued him for emotional distress.
In her legal docs, Lively, who is 37 years old, asserted that Baldoni, who is 40 years old, was cautioned during a meeting that Reynolds was present at to refrain from making explicit comments. These comments included describing his previous "porn addiction" or exhibiting improper films. In addition to this, she asserted that Baldoni had employed crisis management strategies in order to create a negative social media campaign that would harm her reputation.
According to Page Six, Bryan Freedman, who represents Baldoni, has categorically refuted the charges, calling them "intentionally salacious" and stating that they are intended to do public harm to his client. Furthermore, Freedman added that Lively's assertions are an attempt to restore her terrible reputation, which he believes derives from her own behavior during the promotional campaign for the film. Freedman contends that Lively's activities are the cause of her negative reputation.
Recently, Freedman disclosed to NBC News that Baldoni wants to take legal action against Lively "soon." As a result of the New York Times' coverage of the ongoing legal fight, Baldoni has filed a libel action against the newspaper, asking for $250 million in compensation for its coverage. He asserts that Reynolds retaliated against him for allegedly "fat-shaming" Lively, alleging that Baldoni inquired about her weight owing to previous back problems that forced him to lift her during a scene. As a result of this, he claims that Reynolds retaliated against him.
According to the lawsuit, the altercation that took place afterward was so hostile that Baldoni felt obligated to apologize on multiple occasions. Reports indicate that Reynolds has blocked Baldoni on social media, a clear sign of his dissatisfaction with the situation.
