Jennie Kim, the BLACKPINK member turned solo artist, drew one of the largest crowds of the weekend at Coachella 2025, marking her highly anticipated solo debut at the globally renowned music festival in Indio, California. Returning to the festival for a third time - but her first as a solo act - Jennie delivered a 50-minute performance that left fans and industry observers noting both her evolving artistry and enduring global appeal.
Taking the stage Sunday evening at the Outdoor Theatre, Jennie performed 13 tracks from her recently released debut solo album Ruby, which dropped in March. The setlist, curated specifically for Coachella, included tracks such as "Mantra," "Handlebars," "Start a War," "Zen," and "F.T.S." She opened with "Filter," appearing in a Western-themed outfit that drew attention on social media.
Her performance reached a crescendo with "Like Jennie," the single that landed her on both the Billboard Hot 100 and UK Official Singles Chart. Chanting "Come on, it's gon' be f---ing hard," Jennie's sharp rap delivery and stage charisma sparked a massive sing-along, both in-person and online, with fans coining the term "Jenchella" across platforms including Twitter and YouTube livestream chats.

Adding to the buzz was a surprise appearance by singer Kali Uchis for their March collaboration "Damn Right." The duo traded verses in a sleek stage design as Jennie's choreography complemented Uchis' smooth vocals. Childish Gambino, also featured on the studio version of the track, did not appear.
"I did not expect to see so many people out there," Jennie told the audience. "Thank you for coming to my set, I love you Coachella."
According to Korean media reports, Jennie attracted the second-largest crowd for a Korean solo act in Coachella history - second only to BLACKPINK's historic 2023 headlining appearance. Footage of the crowd sparked reaction online, particularly in Korean fan communities, where users remarked: "Jennie killed it," "So many people... that's like a headliner," and "The crowd singing together is legendary."
Jennie is slated to return for a second Coachella performance on April 20.
