Prince William is reportedly preparing to take decisive action against Prince Harry and Meghan Markle over what royal insiders describe as a breach of an agreement made with the late Queen Elizabeth II. According to sources cited by RadarOnline and Us Weekly, William has been "livid" since Meghan allegedly used the "HRH" styling in public once again, despite pledging to forgo it as part of the Sandringham Summit terms when the couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020.

The latest controversy surrounds a gift package from Meghan's lifestyle brand, As Ever, sent to podcast host Jamie Kern Lima. The basket included a note signed, "With the compliments of HRH The Duchess of Sussex," reigniting tensions within the royal household.

"To say he was upset by Meghan's continued use of HRH would be an understatement. He was livid," a royal source told RadarOnline. The insider added that William now plans to "make her pay" and intends to formally strip the Sussexes of their remaining titles when he ascends the throne.

"They made their choice," the source said, explaining William's belief that Harry and Meghan cannot retain their royal status while operating outside the institution. "His argument is Harry and Meghan are either in or they're out as senior royals."

Though Buckingham Palace has previously downplayed the urgency of the HRH issue, the situation appears to have escalated, with insiders noting that King Charles has so far avoided confrontation, while William is now "telling courtiers it should have been done when Harry and Meghan announced they were leaving."

The simmering feud was further stoked after Prince Harry's May 2 interview with the BBC, during which he claimed that King Charles "won't speak to me," while not mentioning Prince William or Princess Kate Middleton at all. According to Us Weekly, William "is more hurt than anything else," and has since cut off communication with his brother and sister-in-law.

William and Kate "are not giving" Harry and Meghan "the time of day," an insider told the magazine. Kate, currently recovering from a cancer diagnosis announced in March 2024, has reportedly banned Meghan's name from being mentioned around her due to stress.

She "will never see Meghan again," the source said, echoing the deepening divide between the two couples. The Princess of Wales is said to be focused entirely on her recovery and supporting her children, with no intention of reengaging with her sister-in-law even if a broader reconciliation with Harry takes place.

Master Graham Zellick, a professor of public law and tribunal judge, previously stated that HRH stylings are not legally enshrined titles but honorifics granted at the sovereign's discretion-giving William the authority to revoke them once he becomes king.
