A growing personal feud within the Beckham family has taken on a royal dimension, as Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton appear to have taken opposing sides in the high-profile family drama involving Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz. The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly grown close to Peltz, while the Princess of Wales made a public gesture of support for Victoria Beckham, further fueling speculation about renewed tensions between the two duchesses.
According to an internal source quoted by RadarOnline.com, Meghan Markle "wants to support Nicola however she can when it comes to her family rift," adding, "The downside is Kate is on the other side of the feud!" Markle, 43, is said to have forged a growing friendship with Peltz, 30, after the actress and her husband Brooklyn Beckham, 25, reportedly severed ties with David and Victoria Beckham.
The estrangement became more apparent after Brooklyn and Nicola were absent from David Beckham's 50th birthday celebration earlier this month. "The Sussexes see a huge amount of potential in this friendship and are keen to build on it," an insider told Radar. "Meghan's especially excited to bring Nicola into her world - they're talking every day. The bond is strong already."
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton, also 43, appeared to signal her allegiance to the Beckham matriarch by stepping out in a sharply tailored suit from Victoria Beckham's fashion label shortly after the Beckham family split made headlines. "It wasn't accidental," a royal source said. "Kate knows exactly what she's doing. Wearing VB was her way of showing Victoria she's got her back."
The fashion statement follows years of personal rapport between Middleton and Victoria Beckham, including private communications and shared style interests. "Kate feels for her as a mom," a fashion insider told Radar. "She wanted to give Victoria a little boost, and that show of support meant the world."
Tensions between Victoria and Nicola reportedly trace back to the 2022 "Frockgate" episode, when Nicola chose not to wear a wedding dress designed by her mother-in-law. While Nicola denied any ill intent, stating, "It's not a feud! I thought it was beautiful that Brooklyn's mum got to make that for me... I just didn't end up wearing it," the relationship has continued to strain.
Now, Closer Magazine reports that Victoria Beckham has directly contacted Meghan Markle to express her frustration. "Victoria was already furious when she got wind of Meghan and Harry reaching out to Brooklyn and Nicola to 'bond' over their shared family feuding drama," a source said. "...but when she found out they'd hosted them at their home, it pushed her over the edge."
The insider added, "She tried to remain calm... but that was easier said than done." The fashion mogul reportedly told Meghan to "stay out of their family drama" and "begged Meghan to put herself in her shoes."
The tension comes after a separate falling out between the Sussexes and the Beckhams, dating back to 2021 when Markle reportedly accused Victoria Beckham of leaking stories to the press. Though the claim was later debunked, it caused a lasting rift between the couples.
As Brooklyn and Nicola remain distanced from his famous parents, sources say they've found refuge with Nicola's billionaire family, headed by Nelson and Claudia Peltz. "There's a lot less pressure there," a source told Radar. Another added: "Teaming up with Nicola and Brooklyn is their way of showing they've moved on - for good."
