Donald Trump Jr.'s relationship with Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson has become the subject of new tabloid scrutiny after sources alleged she began dating the President's son as part of a plan to meet billionaire Elon Musk. The claims, which circulated through multiple social and political circles in Florida, suggest that Anderson viewed Trump Jr. as a gateway into Musk's orbit-a theory now fueling widespread gossip around Palm Beach's elite.

"She was going for Elon Musk," a friend close to Anderson told reporters, speaking on condition of anonymity out of fear of angering the Trump family. The friend further alleged that Anderson once confided she "wanted to have one of Musk's babies" and believed a relationship with Trump Jr. would bring her closer to the Tesla and SpaceX founder.

At the time Anderson allegedly expressed those ambitions, Musk had grown increasingly influential within Donald Trump's inner circle. His vocal endorsement during the 2024 presidential campaign drew him into the former president's political network, where both Trump Jr. and Anderson are known to socialize. Insiders claim Anderson saw that proximity as her "opportunity to enter Musk's orbit."

Musk, 54, has fathered at least 14 children with four women and has publicly stated that he wants more. Since his 2022 split from musician Grimes, with whom he shares three children, the billionaire has not been linked romantically to anyone else.

Despite the allegations, Anderson's reported ambitions never materialized. She and Trump Jr. remain together, their relationship having emerged publicly in late 2024, shortly after Trump Jr. ended his engagement to former Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle.

The timing of Trump Jr.'s breakup and new romance raised eyebrows within political circles. Guilfoyle, 56, had been engaged to him since 2020, but their relationship had reportedly deteriorated by mid-2024. Anderson attended the Republican National Convention that July, sitting directly behind Trump Jr., while Guilfoyle appeared in another section of the venue. The scene was described by one attendee as "visibly tense."

Anderson, a member of a prominent Palm Beach family, has been portrayed by some Trump associates as a "more refined" match compared to Guilfoyle, whose outspoken public persona often drew criticism. Yet loyalty to Guilfoyle remained strong within Trump's orbit. Following his re-election, the President appointed her U.S. Ambassador to Greece, effectively relocating her overseas while his son's relationship with Anderson grew closer.

Sources told reporters that Guilfoyle, now living in Athens, has continued to keep tabs on her ex-fiancé. One insider claimed she expressed irritation over reports that Anderson might have visited the Jupiter, Florida mansion she once shared with Trump Jr. "Kim isn't too happy about this," the source said. "The last thing she wants is Bettina using something she owns."

Though she has largely avoided public comment, Guilfoyle is said to have dismissed her ex-partner in private conversations, reportedly calling him "no prize."

Anderson, for her part, has occasionally defended Trump Jr. online. After a story earlier this year labeled him a "spoiled heir" and "the most despised member of the family," Anderson wrote on Instagram: "Rumours are started by haters, spread by fools, and accepted by idiots." She added, "Definitely an 'insider' very familiar with @donaldtrumpjr."

In a more affectionate post, she described him as "the finest, loveliest, tenderest, and most beautiful and brilliant person I have ever known... and even that is an understatement."
