Sean "Diddy" Combs was reportedly placed in solitary confinement following an alleged altercation with another inmate at the Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix in New Jersey, though federal prison officials have declined to confirm the incident or discuss any disciplinary action involving the music mogul.
According to multiple reports, the confrontation occurred this week inside the low-security federal prison where Combs is serving his sentence. The reports alleged the dispute began after another inmate "dissed" Combs, escalating into a brief physical fight involving pushing and punches before correctional officers intervened.
Entertainment journalist Loren LoRosa added to the public attention surrounding the reported incident after posting on X that she had received information suggesting Combs had been placed in segregation.
"The phone call I got was 'Diddy choked a man out,'" LoRosa wrote. She added that she was told the incident occurred shortly after 4 p.m. EST on July 23. According to LoRosa, Combs' representatives were contacted for confirmation and "did not dispute" the information she relayed, although they were still attempting to verify the details.
Federal prison officials have not confirmed those accounts. A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons said the agency "does not comment on the conditions of confinement, disciplinary matters, or other information regarding individual inmates due to privacy, safety, and security concerns." A separate statement cited in the reports similarly said prison officials could not disclose internal information regarding individual inmates.
Because of that policy, it remains unclear whether Combs is currently being held in solitary confinement or whether prison authorities have made any formal disciplinary findings related to the reported altercation.
According to the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate database, Combs is currently scheduled for release on Feb. 23, 2028. That projected release date assumes he continues receiving available good-conduct credit. If prison officials ultimately determine that institutional rules were violated, possible sanctions could include the loss of privileges, additional time in segregation or an effect on earned good-conduct credits, though no such determination has been announced.
Combs has been incarcerated at Fort Dix since being sentenced in October 2025. According to the report, he received a 50-month federal prison sentence after being convicted under the Mann Act for transporting individuals across state lines for sexual encounters. The Associated Press reported that the sentence amounted to four years and two months. Jurors convicted him on two prostitution-related counts while acquitting him of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges.
