“Pokemon Go” players may be in for a treat following leaks that something special is about to happen in the coming week. An “Evolution Event” is believed to be happening soon and such is speculated to include the coming of Gen 4 pocket monsters and ghost events of Gen 2 and 3.
Word of such comes from the same source who predicted the Pokemon Go Water Festival before it actually took place. Aside from the new critters that could come out in the open, the event will also include plenty of bonuses and goodies that will delight augmented reality gamers.
Above anything else, the arrival of new pocket monsters to Pokemon Go is what many will be curious about. Among the Gen 4 evolutions believed to be coming are Magmortar, Electrivire, and Rhyperior. Other than that, Gen 3 evolutions may finally be released although this may not include Miloctic.
Worth noting here is that there are roughly two dozen Pokemon on Gen 4 that can be evolved from previous ones. Hence, not all may be introduced simultaneously if the leaks tied up to the “Evolution Event” does take place, an incremental rollout of the critters seems more logical.
Other than the potential new Pokemon Go characters, events offer new items and increased frequencies in gaining XP and spawn rates. There will reportedly be double XP when evolving and spinning and increased rates of evolution of items at Pokestops, said Forbes.
Evolution stones, if true, could be something to check out. Though it remains unconfirmed, introducing it could benefit people who can start picking certain Pokemon evolutions. Right now, they are done at random. A good example would be Eevee. With an evolution stone, a player can choose between a Leafeon and a Glaceon, two Eevee evolutions on Gen 4.
Additionally, storage will allegedly be tweaked to 2,000 while spawn rates of evolved Pokemon will also increase. There will also be new evolution items such as an elemental stone arriving although this is up for confirmation.
Other than the new items and pocket monsters, new quests raids, and shop boxes with lucky eggs plus raid passes are coming. There are so many things to look forward to and everything seems too good to be true. Game Rant points out that most events do not include quite a huge haul that is offered at once. Hence, it would be best to take all of these with a grain of salt for now until Niantic comes out with an official announcement.
