The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE prides itself as the first smartphone powered by a Snapdragon 710 processor. That alone opens up a lot of possibilities such as storing high-resolution photos or videos via the internal memory of the device.

When it debuted back in May, buyers could choose between a 4 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM or 6 GB + 64 GB ROM version. It would be best to note that the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE does not have provisions for expandable storage. 64 GB of storage space is enough for standard users. However, the case is different for the ones who love to download mobile applications and capture photos/videos - instances where storage becomes an issue.

Doubling the storage should address that storage issue, particularly for folks who plan to maximize the built-in dual 12 MP and 5 MP primary camera. The same holds true for the front-facing 20 MP camera, a feature that selfie lovers are likely to maximize.

Being the third member of the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE clan, it comes to no surprise that it would cost a tad bit more. It carries a $338 price tag for the added space with other specs practically the same as its predecessors according to Gizmo China.

For those who may have missed it, the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE features a 5.88-inch FHD+ Samsung AMOLED display with a notch found at the top of the screen. Other features not yet mentioned include an Adreno 616 GPU, a glass back, USB Type C reversible connector and a non-removable Li-Ion 3210 mAh battery. It is dual-SIM ready and comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Packed with a punch, the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE looms as an excellent buy for people who want to get their money’s worth. For people who place a premium on style, the phone is available in different shades (i.e., gold, dark gray, bright red, and bright blue).

The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is one of the best mid-range handsets anyone should consider buying. It packs impressive specs, a trademark that the Chinese smartphone maker has established through the years. There is no official word on the actual number of units that will be made available. But if one is to compare how availability has become a problem, it would be wise to line up early to secure a unit.

For those planning to get hold of the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM variant of the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE, it is expected to reach its share of demand. It will become available starting July 27 at 10:00 p.m. E.T. over at Xiaomi’s official online store.
