Meghan Markle, reportedly, has a good relationship with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, but everything has changed since the infamous "Megxit." So, what happened to the two duchesses, who both have a tumultuous start in the royal family?
Prince Harry and Prince Charles' relationship has been said to be soured ever since the Duke of Sussex set off with Meghan in the U.S. Since then, the sixth in line to the throne has been berating his father, and it is, allegedly, taking its toll on Camilla, Express noted.
Prince Harry claimed the Firm" had "cut him off," and his father had even "let him down." However, The Mirror reported the contrary and claimed the Clarence House's accounts showed Prince Charles supported his sons with £4.5 million, covering the year of April 2020.
So, the accusations, reportedly, affected Camilla and her relationship with Meghan. In fact, their once-healthy bond might no longer be "salvageable."
A source told The Telegraph the future Queen Consort might never forgive the former actress for what she had done to her husband. This turned of events surprised many, considering how close the two women used to be.
The insider added they clearly liked each other then, and there was "real warmth and support." Camilla, too, had been very helpful to Meghan.
In fact, she is just one of the few senior royals whose name has not been mentioned by the former "Suits" star in her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey. Allegedly, it might have something to do with their close relationship.
A close family friend even told Vanity Fair that the two got along "aces." Camilla and Prince Charles' appearance at Prince Harry and Meghan's wedding was also said to be "very much felt and appreciated."
Just like Meghan, Camilla experienced quite a struggle when she first joined the royal family. It stemmed from an affair she had with Prince Charles while the latter was still married to Princess Diana back then.
With the same experience, Camilla would usually take Meghan to lunches and advised her how to cope with the pressures of being a royal. But, the insider revealed Meghan did not listen.
If Meghan seemed not to pay attention to Camilla's advice, it might be because Prince Harry understood things differently in the '90s, compared to his father and stepmother. In fact, he would often compare his wife to his mom and how the intense media scrutiny gave her a hard time that ultimately led to her death.
Time and over again, Prince Harry said he did not want the same thing to happen to Meghan. So, they found a way and decided to leave the monarchy.
