HBO Programming Chief Casey Bloys discussed the much anticipated final season and the recently ordered prequel pilot as fans brace themselves for the return of the hit fantasy series "Game of Throne."

In a recent sit-down interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bloys revealed that the six episodes of the upcoming "Game of Thrones" Season 8 would not be two hours long. Instead, each chapter might likely run between 50 to 80 minutes only.

He also teased that the trailer for the much anticipated "Game of Thrones" Season 8 will launch in the latter part of the year. However, the specific date has yet to be revealed. It is believed that the fantasy series just hit the post-production considering that the filming already concluded earlier this month.

Aside from that, Bloys also talked about the possibility of having another "Game of Thrones" spin-off apart from the recently ordered prequel pilot. While earlier reports suggest that the network is exploring multiple spin-offs, Bloys answered in the negative.

"No," Bloys said when asked about another "Game of Thrones" prequel. "It's fair to say we're excited about this pilot, we're hoping to shoot it in the first quarter of '19, I don't anticipate any movement on any other prequels until we [see what this one is]," he added.

Not much has been said about the prequel's storyline. However, it will, reportedly, occur thousands of years before the events of "Game of Thrones." It might also show the horrifying history of Westeros and the exact origin of the White Walkers.

While the prequel pilot of "Game of Thrones" has yet to find its cast members and director, writer Jane Goldman will serve as the showrunner along with novel creator George R. R. Martin as co-creator.

Meanwhile, actor Kit Harington, who plays Jon Snow in "Game of Thrones," has already said his heartfelt goodbye and even took a nostalgic look back at filming. He said that starring in the hit fantasy series since 2011 has been a fantastic journey and that he cherished every minute of it.

Harington, 31, added that he would miss the people he worked with on the fantasy series. This comes after co-star Emilia Clarke and Maisie Williams, who respectively play Daenerys Targaryen and Arya Stark, also said their goodbye to the fantasy drama and their characters.

The eighth and final season of HBO's "Game of Thrones" is set to air in the first half of 2019.
