An exciting treat awaits "Dragon Ball Super" fans. Series creator Akira Toriyama has begun teasing the upcoming animated science fantasy action film's menacing villain, who might be familiar to some.

A new set of character designs from the upcoming "Dragon Ball Super" film has been making noise in the online world, which teased the three new forms of the menacing adversary, Broly (to be voiced by Bin Shimada). In its original shape, Broly can be seen without any power-ups but is said to be more potent than Vegeta's base form.

In the second one, the menacing villain can be seen in the Super Saiyan Anger form that can be activated through the power of intense wrath. The last one is called Legendary Super Saiyan, which gives him extraordinary strength and speed to the point that the irises and pupils in his eyes abruptly vanish and his hair changes to a light-green color.

While not much has been said about the character, avid fans of the famous manga would know that Broly is one of the strongest Saiyan in the series. He possesses enhanced healing properties compared to regular Saiyans.

He also has a unique ability to manipulate individuals and objects using his mind. Thus, Broly will undoubtedly pose a threat to the series protagonist, Son Goku (to be voiced by Masako Nozawa) and Vegeta (to be voiced by Ryō Horikawa).

"Dragon Ball Super: Broly," which is directed by Tatsuya Nagamine, is set to take place after the Universe Survival Saga shown in its anime television series counterpart. It will follow the struggles of Son Goku and Vegeta as they go head-to-head with the menacing villain, Broly, and will also show the history of the Saiyans.

"One day, Goku and Vegeta are faced by a Saiyan called 'Broly' who they've never seen before," the summary for the upcoming film reads, as per Comic Book Anime. "The Saiyans were supposed to have been almost completely wiped out in the destruction of Planet Vegeta, so what's this one doing on Earth? This encounter between the three Saiyans who have followed completely different destinies turns into a stupendous battle," it added.

"Dragon Ball Super: Broly," which will also see the return of Frieza, Bulma, Piccolo, Trunks, Beerus, Whis, and Paragus, is set to arrive on Dec. 14 in Japan.
