There is no place like the internet. The official launching of Samsung Galaxy Note 9 might be a few weeks away, but the leaks and rumors are already swirling, giving everyone an idea of what's in store for them.
As spotted in a carrier's store in South Korea, as per Gizmo China, Aug. 24 is the official release date for Samsung Galaxy Note 9 with pre-orders starting on Aug. 10. Pre-ordering the device will also give the buyer several freebies in return, including a car charger, grip ring, power bank, wireless pads and phone cases.
With Galaxy Note 9, Samsung increased the display of the device from 6.32 inches to 6.4 inches with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2048. It will also have a superior battery life, which is 4000 mAh, compared to its predecessor that only had a 3,300 mAh.
In addition to that, the much-awaited device will be equipped with the latest version of Samsung's artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, Bixby 2.0. The latest AI assistant will reportedly bring upgraded natural language processes, enhanced noise resistance capability, and quicker response times.
What's more, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will also feature a drastically redesigned S-Pen with Bluetooth connectivity. The S-Pen can store and authenticate digital signatures, snap photographs remotely by controlling the timer and control music playback.
As for the camera, the next flagship will have an 8MP front camera with autofocus and a 12MP rear camera with f/1.5 and f/2.4 variable aperture + 12MP zoom lens f/2.4. It will also feature the new ISOCELL Plus camera sensor technology that will enhance the photo's color accuracy and light sensitivity.
Samsung will reportedly offer the Galaxy Note 9 at a reasonable price to boost sales. Nonetheless, the device's price is expected to start at $850-900 for the 128GB variant.
"We aim to expand the sales of flagship models via an earlier-than-usual release of a new Galaxy Note, which offers exceptional performance for a reasonable price," Head of Samsung's mobile business, Kyeong Tae Lee, said in a statement obtained by ZD Net. "We will also strengthen price competitiveness and actively adopt advanced technology in our mass models to aggressively respond to the market condition. Offering more sophisticated specs throughout our lineup will make it difficult to maintain profitability," he added.
Note 9 is set to be unveiled in the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Aug. 09.
