The 19th episode of "Captain Tsubasa" is imminent, with spoilers suggesting that the upcoming episode will feature a full match between Meiwa Middle School and Furano Middle School.
In "Captain Tsubasa" episode 18, it was revealed that Nankatsu Middle School was one of the participants in the final tournament. Genzo Wakabayashi (voiced by Kenichi Suzumura), who plans on coming back soon from his short hiatus, left his dream of playing in the final game in the hands of Tsubasa Ozora (voiced by Yuuko Sanpei).
However, Nankatsu Middle School struggled against Naniwa FC due to their goalkeeper, Taichi Nakanishi, who actually has quick reflexes in spite of his large body. The latter, then, boasted about being the best goalkeeper in the tournament when Tsubasa Ozora suddenly unleashed a counterattack, as per OtakuKart.
In the next episode, the semi-final of the Boys National Soccer Tournament will finally kick off. The first game will be played by Furano Middle School and Meiwa Middle School.
To start it off, Kojiro Hyuga (voiced by Takuya Sato) will unleash a rough power to break through all opponents in a straight line - seemingly showing the other team the strength of the current champion.
"But Matsuyama won't be defeated that fast either," the official synopsis for the upcoming "Captain Tsubasa" episode 19 reads (via Manga Tokyo). "He keeps creating chances for his team thanks to his great leadership skills and the vicious training his team did in the snow of Hokkaido. Suddenly Hyuga's sliding tackle connects with Matsuyama's foot and...?!," it added.
As a result, Furano Middle School will be granted a penalty kick. But when Hikaru Matsuyama (voiced by Wataru Hatano) about to launch the penalty kick, karate goalkeeper Ken Wakashimazu (voiced by Yuichiro Umehara) will suddenly show up and stop him.
The move will allow Kojiro Hyuga to score the victorious goal. Thus, Meiwa Middle School will be announced as the winner with a score of 3-2. Despite his defeat, Hikaru Matsuyama is still thankful since he learned the importance of teamwork. He also learned to respect Kojiro Hyuga as he fought with all of his strength.
The 19th episode of "Captain Tsubasa," titled "Fierce Fight! Meiwa VS Furana," is set to air on Aug. 7, Tuesday on TV Tokyo network in Japan and on Cartoon Network in America.
