Things is not over yet for "Code Black." The medical television series was canceled after three seasons in May, but new reports suggest that it might be un-canceled after its last four episodes performed steadily amid its summer run.

At this year's Television Critics Association press conference, the president of CBS Entertainment Kelly Kahl openly talked about the future of "Code Black." Since the last episodes of the third season performed well, the network is reportedly considering renewing the medical television series for another season.

"We [have considered bringing it back]," CBS President Kelly Kahl said, as quoted by TV Guide. "It's doing incredibly well. It's a well-done show. We'd like to figure out a way to make it work... Economics were a little challenged on it, but it's certainly performing well, and we're going to take a look," he added.

While many fans are happy about the news, series star Rob Lowe - who played Dr. Ethan Willis in the show - sing a different tune. In a Twitter post, the 54-year-old American actor said that the news should be taken lightly since the network has yet to reach out to show creator Michael Seitzman.

"Code Black" heavily revolves around the lives of the four first-year residents and their colleagues who must tend to patients in Angels Memorial Hospital's emergency room that lacks resources.

The medical drama series, which starred Marcia Gay Harden, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Raza Jaffrey, Luis Guzman, Bonnie Somerville, Harry Ford, Melanie Chandra, and William Allen Young, recently wrapped its three-season run with 5.3 million total viewers.

Nonetheless, fans can still check out Marcia Gay Harden in the upcoming political thriller film, "Point Blank." Not much has been said about her character, but she will star alongside Frank Grillo, Boris McGiver, Anthony Mackie, Markice Moore and Teyonah Parris.

"Point Blank," which is directed by Joe Lynch, follows the unlikely pairing of Abe (Frank Grillo), a wanted murder suspect, and Paul (Anthony Mackie), an emergency room nurse. Together, they face off a series of gangsters and corrupt policemen as they race to save the lives of the latter's kidnapped wife and unborn child.

The filming for "Point Blank" recently began last Aug. 6, Monday in Cincinnati City in Ohio and is expected to last until the last week of September. No release date has been set yet.
