Another exciting episode awaits "One Piece" fans. The spoilers for the 849th episode is here, teasing that there will be a heated showdown between Monkey D. Luffy (voiced by Mayumi Tanaka) and Charlotte Katakuri (voiced by Tomokazu Sugita).
Before that, here is a quick recap for the 848th episode of "One Piece." In "Save the Sunny - Fighting Bravely! Chopper and Brook," Charlotte Pudding (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro) helped the Sanji Retrieval Team reached the coast where the Thousand Sunny was located.
It also followed Tony Tony Chopper (voiced by Ikue Otani) and Soul King Brook's (voiced by Cho) endeavor as they fought the Big Mom Pirates on the Thousand Sunny. However, Charlotte Perospero (voiced by Yuya Uchida) suddenly stepped in and subdued them with his candy.
Now, the spoilers for the next episode suggest that Pedro of the Treetops (voiced by Shin-ichiro Miki) will go head-to-head against Charlotte Perospero. However, the latter's Devil Fruit, dubbed Paramecia Pero Pero no Mi, will quickly overwhelm the mink.
To take down Charlotte Perospero and free his captive friends, Pedro will sacrifice himself with a deadly explosion, as per OtakuKart. It remains to be seen whether the eldest child of the Charlotte family survives the explosion, but the move will surely free Tony Tony Chopper, Soul King Brook, and the Thousand Sunny.
While the 849th episode of "One Piece" focuses more on Pedro and his heroic action, it will also show a brief moments teasing Monkey D. Luffy face off against Charlotte Katakuri. The former will reportedly pull the latter into the Mirror World to keep him from preventing his friends' escape.
There, Monkey D. Luffy and Charlotte Katakuri will fight each other in a fearsome clash, though it remains to be seen who will win considering their respective abilities and powers.
Fans of the manga series would know that Monkey D. Luffy possesses immense physical prowess, tremendous speed, agility, and reflexes. While he is exceptionally adept hand-to-hand combat skills, the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates is also a Kenbunshoku Haki user.
Charlotte Katakuri, on the other hand, possesses tremendous physical strength and a tremendous amount of durability and endurance. He is also an expert Kenbunshoku Haki user, which enable him to sense the presence of others regardless of whether they are concealed from view or too far to see naturally, much the same as Monkey D. Luffy.
The 849th episode of "One Piece," titled "Before the Dawn - Pedro, the Captain of the Guardians," will air on Aug. 12, Sunday.
