The long wait is now over. After the announcement that "Dragon Ball Super: Broly" would happen, director Tatsuya Nagamine has finally offered some new details for the animated science fantasy action film.
In a recent sit-down interview, Japanese anime director Tatsuya Nagamine hinted that Son Goku (voiced by Masako Nozawa) and Vegeta (Ryo Horikawa) would soon reach the Ultra Instinct, a limited and highly advanced mental state.
"[Son] Goku is already pretty close to being a god, and Vegeta is desperately trying to catch up," director Tatsuya Nagamine said, as quoted by OtakuKart. "This time, Freeza shows particular growth. He wants to be on top but is pondering how he can with Beerus and co. around. Is his ambition to defeat the Omni-King?!," he added.
Director Tatsuya Nagamine's statement has fueled fan speculation about Son Goku unleashing the full-power of Ultra Instinct and activating it at his own will. Vegeta, who is still trying to figure out how will reportedly do whatever it takes to reach it.
Once they reach the Ultra Instinct, Son Goku and Vegeta can naturally respond to any threat without the need of acknowledging it. Their body can also move and adapt amidst a battle on its own, enabling them to attack and defend simultaneously without thinking.
While nothing is set in stone yet, this only implies that the new Saiyan, Broly (voiced by Bin Shimada), is tremendously strong and hard to defeat considering that Son Goku and Vegeta will need to activate the Ultra Instinct to bring him down.
Broly is said to be one of the strongest Saiyan in the "Dragon Ball" franchise. He can reportedly manipulate individuals and objects using his mind, and also possesses enhanced healing properties compared to regular Saiyans.
The menacing villain also has three forms. In his regular form, he is a light-skinned Saiyan with dark eyes and spiky black hair. The second one is called Super Saiyan Anger which can be activated through intense anger. Lastly, the Legendary Super Saiyan form will turn his hair wholly golden and will give him tremendous strength and speed.
"Dragon Ball Super: Broly," which will also see the return of Frieza (voiced by Ryūsei Nakao), Piccolo (voiced by Toshio Furukawa), Beerus (voiced by Kōichi Yamadera), Trunks (voiced by Takeshi Kusao), Whis (voiced by Masakazu Morita) and Bulma (Aya Hisakawa), is scheduled to be released on Dec. 14 in Japan.
