Royalty comes at a price, and the Meghan Markle is getting more than what she bargained for. While it helps that her husband Prince Harry has become patient, she is getting negative publicity from an unlikely source – her dad and sister.
Since their marriage back in May, the Royal Family has been shrouded with constant drama starring Meghan’s dad, Thomas Markle, and half-sister, Samantha. Critics consider it as a way to draw attention but at the unfortunate expense of the Duchess of Sussex. Looking ahead, there are options although the results show no promise.
E!News provided a brief background on how this controversy started. It dates back before the actual royal wedding with Thomas Markle staging paparazzi photos. According to him, these photos were intended to improve his image.
After that, there was the alleged heart attack which prevented him from walking his daughter down the aisle. As most know by now, Prince Charles ended up taking his place.
The elder Markle did watch the whole ceremony on television but more followed. This included claims that her daughter was terrified of her new role and that it was a steep price to pay to be in the royal family.
Also invading the scene was Meghan’s half-sister Samantha. She spoke to the press during the engagement and even revealed that she would release a memoir called “The Diary of a Princess Pushy’s Sister.” This was tied up to the Duchess’ relationship with her father.
The intent of both Thomas and Samantha Markle is befuddling other than it is a means to gain attention. However, the Royal Family may need to resort to measures with hopes of finally ending this row.
According to the Insider, there are several options. One is to rebuild the (strained) relationship, mending ties between Meghan and her father, Thomas. This would include bringing the elder Markle into the fold, something that would hopefully set the records straight.
The other option is considered the less desirable one which is to ignore. Extreme as it may sound, such could put a stop to the madness once Meghan and Prince Harry cut the communication lines.
Seeing how Thomas has been trying to manipulate media, this may not put a lid on the drama. Also, Meghan may never have peace of mind, knowing that somewhere out there that Thomas (and perhaps Samantha) continue to badmouth her for her alleged ignorance.
The Royal Family do have options, one desirable and the other harsh. Holding a family meeting only could work - although this one is no ordinary family.
