It looks like Blake Shelton prefers to take things slowly. The 42-year-old country singer is not yet ready to have kids of his own.

It came to light when a source told Hollywood Life that Blake Shelton is not yet ready to have his baby, stating that it is not exactly his top priority as of the moment. Also, he currently has his hands full with his girlfriend's three kids: Kingston, Zuma Nesta Rock, and Apollo Bowie Flynn Rossdale.

"Blake has had constant thoughts of being a father and when it gets to a fever pitch, he brings himself back to earth and decides against it," a source close to the country singer told Hollywood Life. "The reason for that is that he has his hands full with Gwen's kids and he is enjoying how that is going," the source added.

The source went ahead to say that "The Voice" coach feels that it might be cooler to be a father later in life, just like American actor George Clooney. The latter welcomed his twins, Ella and Alexander, in June 2017.

The country singer is aware that certain preparations would have to be made especially if he wanted the "Hollaback Girl's" child. It might go through a surrogate, in vitro fertilization (IVF) or adoption by that time, the source added.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani also want to enjoy each other's company first, and their respective careers are also a big deterrent as well. Thus, there is no need to rush into having another child to look after.

The "I'll Name the Dogs" hitmaker, who recently concluded its "Country Music Freaks 2018 Tour," will be holding another concert this Sept. 19 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN. He will also busy prepping for the 15th season of "The Voice" alongside Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson.

Gwen Stefani, on the other hand, is currently hitting the road on her "Just a Girl (Concert Residency)." The tour, which kicked off last June at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, is set to conclude in March 2019. All net proceeds will be donated to Cure 4 the Kids Foundation.
