"Crazy Rich Asians" continue to dominate the movie industry. The romantic comedy-drama film, starring Constance Wu and Henry Golding, had a star-studded Asian premiere night on Tuesday, Aug. 21.

The lead stars, together with director Jon M. Chu, were all smiles as they walked down the red carpet at the Capitol Theatre in Singapore. Also joining Constance Wu and Henry Golding are their co-stars Tan Kheng Hua, Selena Tan, Pierre Png, Fiona Xie, Koh Chieng Mun, and Amy Cheng.

"I'm so looking forward for every Singaporean to watch this because Singapore is so beautiful on screen," Fiona Xie who plays an ambitious soap opera star Kitty Pong in "Crazy Rich Asians" said, as quoted by Voice of America. "Everybody (in Hollywood) was like, is this CGI? Does this place really exist? This is a homecoming!" she added.

I want to give kudos to the amazing team who have worked so tirelessly round the clock to make this project possible. For their heart and soul poured into elevating our country on a global platform. It’s always easy to critique, but I hope that one can have grace to look beyond the nitty gritty and to honour this once in a lifetime success story of Singapore taking centrestage in a Hollywood film that is romancing the world by storm and winning the hearts of one and all. For its sincere and honest tale, so wonderfully and beautifully weaved together into one magic tapestry. I am so proud of this family and have so much respect for our stewards who have selflessly invested all their time and effort. I feel exceptionally emotional about this momentous glory and I hope everyone can unite to celebrate with us. @jonmchu @henrygolding @livvlo @kevinkwanbooks @michelleyeoh_official @velle_ @carmen_soo @constancelaujm @janiceymkoh @kohchiengmun @amyjcheng @harryshumjr and every single cast and crew @visit_singapore #passionmadepossible A post shared by  -fiona xie- *KITTY PONG* (@xplacidacidx) on Aug 14, 2018 at 11:38pm PDT

"Crazy Rich Asians" focuses on the life of a Chinese-American professor, Rachel Chu (Constance Wu), who finally meets her boyfriend's (Henry Golding) family after years of dating. Things get complicated, however, when her boyfriend reveals that his family are actually wealthy real estate developers in Singapore.

To make things worse, Nicholas "Nick" Young's (Henry Golding) domineering mother, Eleanor Sung-Young (Michelle Yeoh) and grandmother, Shang Su Yi (Lisa Lu), do not approve of Rachel Chu as his better half.

The romantic comedy-drama film, which is based on the 2013 novel of the same name by Kevin Kwan, is the first Hollywood film that features a mainly Asian cast. Hence, the casting has been met with praise and the film itself has even grossed more than $45 million worldwide.

Due to its immense success, a sequel to "Crazy Rich Asians" is finally on the cards with director Jon M. Chu and screenwriters Peter Chiarelli and Adele Lim on board, as per the Hollywood Reporter. The sequel will be set two or three years after the events of the first film.

"Crazy Rich Asian" opens in Hong Kong theaters on Aug. 23, Thursday.
