Besides its smartphone business, Xiaomi is also reaching up to the heights of the sky according to the company's latest accounts. In its recent conference, which was dubbed as its strategic conference, Xiaomi's TV business chief Wang Chuan stated that according to the latest research data, Xiaomi has taken over the number one spot in terms of TV sales and shipments throughout China.
Gizmochina quoted that Xiaomi has already unveiled a number of TV models during the first phase of the year. The company saw a superlative success in TV business within just a little time after launching its TV production unit. Xiaomi's official research index revealed that the company has overtaken all its potential rivals in terms of TV shipments in China, in the second quarter. This progress has placed Xiaomi to the number one position in the TV business segment in June 2018.
Besides its spectacular success in television manufacturing business in China, Xiaomi also waived its winning flag in terms of TV selling in India as well. Wang Chuan further said that Xiaomi has sold over 500,000 units of Mi TV sets in India within just six months of establishing its TV business in India. "This achievement marks an industry first, and is a key milestone for Xiaomi India," the company added in a press briefing after the conference.
Gadget365 noted that Xiaomi has launched three Mi TV models in India namely, Mi TV 4, Mi TV 4A 32" and Mi TV 4A 43" during the period of February and March 2018. Within just a few months, Xiaomi India generated around half a million sales of its TV models across its three channels: mi.com, Flipkart.com, and Mi Homes stores.
The Mi TV 4A 43-inch, which sports a full-HD 1920x1080 resolution based display, is now selling in India at INR 22,999. The Mi TV 4A 32-inch variant flaunting 1366x768 pixels display panel has been price tagged at INR 13,999. Both the variants are powered by an Amlogic quad-core chipset, coupled with 1GB of RAM. Moreover, both the models come with an 8GB Internal memory, for providing a content storage area for the users.
While asked about its success in Indan television markets, Chuan said that Xiaomi's cost-effective models are the key reasons for its win in the country. He even assured that Xiaomi will keep its price static for its long-run in Indian television manufacturing industry.
