Miley Cyrus's family is reportedly worried that Liam Hemsworth is sponging off her. However, this was a wrong claim over a year ago and remains false until now.

OK! Magazine published an article on September 3, 2017, claiming that Hemsworth is making Cyrus his "cash cow." Because of that, the family of the singer was reportedly concerned that sticking with him could be a "very costly mistake."

During that time, the tabloid noted that diamond engagement ring he proposed to the singer with was where his "splurges stop" and that he's "barely open[ed] his wallet" since they've been together. Cyrus, on the other hand, wasn't bothered at all by Hemsworth alleged behavior. However, her relatives weren't happy as the actor was likely "taking advantage of her deep pockets."

But, according to Gossip Cop, Cyrus's family loves Hemsworth. Although the relationship between the two remains low-profile, there were rare occasions making them in the spotlight. The singer's family shares how they adore the actor. For instance, Billy Ray Cyrus - Miley's father - posted a photo of the couple on his Instagram account during the Oscars party earlier this year. He captioned the post, "Too cool!"

His wife, Tish, also posted a picture of the coupled with a caption that read, "WOW!! My [heart emoji] can't take it!! @liamhemsworth @mileycyrus #smile #family."

Over a year ago, Cyrus confidante said to Gossip Cop that the claim was not true at all, and noted Hemsworth frequently spends money on his fiancée. In fact, several months later after the false claim, Hemsworth purchased an expensive gold and bejeweled necklace for Cyrus, with her nickname for him, "Lili."

She posted several messages on her social media accounts where she featured the rainbow-gemmed necklace and words, like "My man killin the game already! This is just pressie #1! Thank you LiLi! @LiamHemsworth."

A rep of Billy Ray Cyrus was also happy to go on the record this time to correct the misconception. He said that any claims regarding Hemsworth's sponging off Cyrus was entirely "untrue."

Apart from this rumor, the magazine also published a story claiming the couple had a secret wedding in Georgia. However, a clerk at the Chatham County Probate confirmed that there's not wedding happened between the two. As per Gossip Cop, the article from over a year ago about Cyrus being Hemsworth's "cash cow" was and remains to this day nothing more than bull.
