It seems Queen Elizabeth has a strict list of do's and don'ts when it comes to fashion. And with Meghan Markle being a new part of the royal family, she certainly is trying to adjust to the said list.

Hollywood Life reports that among the Queen's preferences is that women of the family must prefer wearing dresses or skirts. Meghan, on the other hand, loves to go with the occasional pantsuits.

According to an insider, Meghan "has found certain rules in the royal household difficult to understand, like the fact that the Queen prefers women in dresses or skirts rather than trouser suits, and is often asking [Prince] Harry why things have to be done in a certain way."

It is also said that the former "Suits" actress finds the royal fashion a bit "frustrating" at times. But since it is her new life, she knows she has to understand and deal with it.

Prince Harry's wife first rocked a pantsuit after their royal wedding, particularly when she attended Wimbledon with sister-in-law Kate Middleton. During the event, she could be seen wearing white slacks paired with a blue striped button-down shirt. Meanwhile, the Duchess of Cambridge went for a dress.

Moreover, during the Royal Tour of Ireland with Prince Harry, Meghan decided to don a Givenchy power suit, which is believed to somehow disappoint the Queen's dismay. Meghan also wore another black pantsuit on September 4 as she attended the WellChild Awards. For the latter, she stunned the crowd while wearing a fitted pantsuit by Altuzarra paired with a black blouse by Deitas, People reports.

It holds true that she has not completely left her affection towards chic pantsuits behind. However, it cannot be denied that Meghan has started to adopt more royal-approved style choices since she officially became a duchess.

In fact, During Prince Charles' garden party celebration in May, the new royal Duchess opted for pantyhose instead of wearing go-to bare legs. She also now carries smaller clutches instead of large handbags, and she has taken on the "duchess slant."

Meghan is not the first royal to wear trousers. If people have to go back and peek at some royal pictures over the last 20 to 30 years, they will see the Duchess of Cambridge certainly in trouser lots of times. Princess Diana was also known for her love of tuxedo suit, something she donned on several occasions.
