Tom Cruise is rumored to be recruiting Barbara Streisand to join Scientology. Apparently, it comes from a made-up tabloid report, making the whole narrative false.
According to a publication which falsely claims the aforementioned story, Cruise sees the legendary singer as his "idol" and has been "obsessed" with her for years now. The site further states that the Hollywood actor is "crushing on her."
The publication maintains that the story came from a supposed tipster. It is quoted saying, "Tom is captivated by her class and style. He thinks the world of her. He cranks up the volume when he plays her albums and says she has the voice of an angel."
The so-called source also contends that the "Mission Impossible - Fallout" star deeply wants to co-star with Streisand in a movie. It is alleged that he does not see any reason why the American singer-songwriter would not love the idea of working with him. After all, "they've supported the same causes and mingle in the same social circles." What is even more, the tipster suggests that Streisand "would be the best thing" for all of Scientology.
Gossip Cop, however, reports that the narrative is nowhere near the boundaries of truth. The publication reiterates that, according to a source close to Streisand, the story from the made-up tabloid report is utterly "false."
The site, which is known for busting made-up stories about celebrities, further states that Cruise has never tried to recruit the singer for his religion. Neither does he have plans to have her in a film with him.
Considering the fact that Cruise is into action movies, the possibility of him and Streisand together in a movie does not make much sense. The singer, in particular, is not the type who seems to fit right for another "Mission: Impossible" installment or a "Top Gun" sequel.
Daily Mail, on the other hand, reports that Cruise indeed went to Australia. However, the site clarifies that he was there to launch a recruitment drive intended for his Scientology church in the country. But as far as him recruiting Streisand to his church - or co-star with her in a film - it is not true.
It is interesting to note that the tabloid has an ongoing narrative about the actor wanting to get various celebrities to become Scientologists. Back in 2016, its sister publication falsely claimed that the "American Made" actor was trying to recruit Margot Robbie for his religion. It also had an additional angle about him looking to cast the actress in "Top Gun 2." Fast forward today, Robbie has yet to become a Scientologist; she is not involved in a sequel with Cruise either.
