Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston are known friends of George Clooney. So when the 49-year-old actress visited the "ER" actor's home in Italy earlier this summer, the rumors started to swirl she, and Angelina Jolie's ex-husband spent time together there.

A gossip magazine claimed Aniston and Pitt got reunited in Sardinia, Italy after Clooney played a "matchmaker" for the two. A so-called insider revealed Amal Clooney's husband is an avid fan of the former couple's relationship, so he wanted them to get back together.

Allegedly, Clooney invited Aniston and Pitt to his home in hopes to reignite the spark between the two. Fortunately, the supposed plan worked.

Clooney was said to arrange a dinner just for Aniston and Pitt. He also organized a cruise on the yacht for them. "It was beyond romantic," the insider said.

The source continued to say the ex-couple is "taking things slow" between them as they still have a lot of things to do in their personal lives. Pitt still has an ongoing custody battle against Jolie while Aniston just recently split up with Justin Theroux. So they both want to keep "things under wraps" until they are ready to tell everyone about it.

But Gossip Cop set the news straight and claimed the gossip magazine's article is not true. Both of Pitt and Aniston's reps confirmed the ex-lovers did not meet over the summer, let alone at Clooney's home. The publication did not even reveal when the alleged dinner happened.

Aniston was indeed in Europe all summer for the filming of her new Netflix movie, "Murder Mystery." However, Pitt was in Los Angeles for the production of his next film, "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood." So it quite impossible the two met in Italy. Also, the publication insisted they are never in contact.

It was in the early days of August when Aniston visited Clooney at his Lake Como Villa, per Entertainment Tonight. At the time, a source revealed the "Friends" actress was with Adam Sandler, her "Murder Mystery" co-star, and his wife, Jackie, and not with Pitt. They all boarded a water taxi to travel to the "Batman & Robin" star's home on the Italian waterfront.

Aniston, Sandler, and Jackie even brought an "arrangement of hydrangeas and a bottle of rose" for Clooney. When they finally arrived, they were escorted up to the dock and inside Clooney's property. They were all in awe when they saw the place's exquisite scenery. They then turned around to catch the picturesque view.
