Pete Davidson stays by Ariana Grande's side ever since the news about Mac Miller's surprising death hit the headlines. As some fans are blaming the 25-year-old singer for her former boyfriend's untimely demise, the American comedian is protecting her from all the internet trolls bashing her.
Trolls are blaming Grande for Miller's death to the point that she decided to turn off her Instagram comments as she continuously receives harsh remarks. A source described the "No Tears Left to Cry" hitmaker's situation as terrible as she is already experiencing the trauma of "losing somebody she cared deeply about."
"To be blamed for his death is just despicable, it's such a low blow and totally unwarranted," a source told Hollywood Life.
Davidson feels upset Grande takes the blame for Miller's death. So the 24-year-old actor is determined to keep his fiancé safe from all the bashers.
"Pete is amazing, he's so solid, and he's like, totally Ariana's rock," a source said. Davidson turns as Grande's "shoulder to cry on, support system, the voice of reason, her overall best friend, and everything" in this rough time.
Although Davidson is known for his comical persona, the "Saturday Night Live" cast member knows how to handle grief. He, too, has suffered "horror and loss," but he manages to be a sweet, empathetic, and a super deep guy. The source continued to say he loves the "God is a Woman" singer with all his heart, so all he wants to do is protect her as much as possible.
Davidson is doing everything he can to protect Grande from any negativity. Miller tried to face his demons while he struggled with substance abuse. So to blame the "Bang Bang" singer is unreasonable that left her heartbroken.
Meanwhile, to honor Miller, Grande shared a photo of the late 26-year-old rapper on Instagram on Saturday, September 8. The record producer could be seen sitting on the grass while looking straight to the camera. Although his former girlfriend did not appear in the picture, the pair of sneakers between his legs was believed to be hers. Grande chose not to put a caption on it and simply posted the snap.
According to Variety, Grande and Miller started as friends and collaborated for years. They first worked together on her hit song "The Way." They became officially together in 2016. They also performed together at her "One Love Manchester Concert" in May 2017. They were also spotted together at Madonna's Oscar afterparty in March.
However, reports emerged they broke up in April because of their busy schedules. But there were rumors the cause of their split was his substance abuse. Miller was then found dead inside his home on Friday, September 7, from an apparent overdose.
