The tragic death of Mac Miller prompted Drake to rebuild his friendship with Chris Brown as he wanted to honor the memories of Miller, according to a source close to him.

A lot of celebrities are mourning the loss of Mac Miller, like Drake. A source close to the Canadian rapper told to HollywoodLife that the tragic death of Miller caused him to "build bridges" with Chris Brown by following him on Instagram.

"Drake was really cut up about Mac's death," said the source. "It hit him hard as Mac was one of the kindest, most genuine guys in the business, and his passing is just a senseless tragedy in addition to a great loss to the music industry."

The two reportedly wanted to end their feud over their ex Rihanna for a long time following Miller's death. As per the insider, Drake also wanted to honor "Mac's memory," by rebuilding the friendship with Brown.

Both rappers were also making advances in ending their beef for a while now, and Drake thinks to put aside his feud with Brown is a great way to honor Miller. The two are now reportedly "building bridges" and "making amends."

"It's basically what Mac was all about. Drake's hoping that he and Chris can actually get into the studio together at some point in the future and lay down some tracks together, but its baby steps, so right now they're just making peace," the source added.

The "In My Feelings" also believe that Miller will be happy that he is starting to rebuild his relationship with Brown again, especially now that they are both following each other on Instagram.

"It's something that would make Mac genuinely really happy, and Drake hopes that he's looking down from above and smiling, happy in the knowledge that his legacy of kindness and tolerance lives on," the source said.

On September 8, the two started following each other, which also prompts fans to speculate that they might be making some music collaboration. Brown also posted a story on his Instagram wherein he praised Drake's Scorpion album. And in August, Drake also praised Chris' basketball skills on social media.

Meanwhile, other celebrities were also shocked by Miller's death, due to an alleged drug overdose. His fellow musicians, such as Khalid and Chance the Rapper, pay tribute to him.

"This hurts my heart man RIP bro," Khalid tweeted.

While Chance the Rapper quoted, "I don't know what to say Mac Miller took me on my second tour ever. But beyond helping me launch my career he was one of the sweetest guys I ever knew. Great man. I loved him for real. I'm completely broken. God bless him."
