Singer Carrie Underwood has revealed she suffered three miscarriages in the last two years. Since going through the heartbreaking experiences, the 35-year-old opened up about what she went through in an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning" on Sept. 16, Sunday.
In the interview, Carrie Underwood recalled her first miscarriage in early 2017, speaking about how she handled the situation. At the time, she leaned into her faith stating that the timing was not just right.
The singer-songwriter, however, suffered a second miscarriage in spring of that year and another one in early 2018. In spite of that, she was very grateful that husband Mike Fisher and son Isaiah Michael were there for her as she struggled to cope with the sad news.
"We are so blessed," she said in an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning," as quoted by PEOPLE. "My son, Isaiah, is the sweetest thing... And I'm like, 'If we can never have any other kids, that's okay, because he's amazing.' And I have this amazing life. Like, really, what can I complain about? I can't. I have an incredible husband, incredible friends, an incredible job, an incredible kid," she added.
Still, the heartbreaking experiences did not stop them to try getting pregnant. When she thought she might be suffering a fourth miscarriage, she opened up all her worries and frustrations to God - asking why she would keep getting pregnant if she cannot carry the pregnancy to term.
She also asked God to either completely close the door or just let her have another child. She, then, went to the doctor the following Monday to confirm if she had a miscarriage.
Much to her surprise, her doctor confirmed that everything was okay with the baby, admitting that she felt God heard her prayer. She clarified: "Not that He hasn't in the past. But maybe, I don't know, He heard me."
This comes more than a month after she and Mike Fisher announced that they are expecting their second child. While she has not revealed the gender of the baby nor her due date, she hopes to bring the baby no. 2 with her once she hits the road with her "Cry Pretty Tour 360" on May 1, 2019.
The much-awaited tour will further support her sixth studio album, "Cry Pretty," which was recently released on Sept. 14. The said album features 13 tracks, including "Cry Pretty," "Love Wins" and its promotional single, "End Up with You."
