Carrie Underwood is currently pregnant with her second child, but it appears she went through a lot this year. And while her fell, which left her a scar, was quite unfortunate, it is nothing compared to the fact that she had three miscarriages.
The country star first revealed in August that she and husband Mike Fisher are expecting their second child who will join the 3-year-old big brother Joshua. Before then, she released the titular single "Cry Pretty," which is the title track of her brand new album, and said that it "speaks to a lot of things that have happened in this past year."
According to Celebrity Insider, Underwood suffered no less than three miscarriages. While her pregnancy now is reportedly safe, she is undoubtedly being careful. An insider said that her loved ones gave her the strong support system she needed.
"2017 was one of the most challenging years in Carrie's life. She had huge plans for herself and every step of the way she just faced roadblocks," the source stated.
"Carrie's a great mother and an amazing artist and wanted 2017 to be her year. She made some changes in management but dealing with her career, miscarriages, her fall and losing part of her team was nearly more than she could handle."
The tipster said that Carrie does not only have an "amazingly supportive family," but she also leans on her closest friends to get through all the struggles.
"Her closest people made sure to remind Carrie that 'she needed to be good to herself and slow down."
The American singer is known for her passion for music, "endless hard-work, and perfection." The source adds, "Her constant dedication is what has made her the megastar that she has become but learning to take a breather was not easy."
Underwood wanted to have a baby in 2017 while working on a new music, NBC New York reports. "We got pregnant early 2017, and didn't work out," she revealed. Come spring, she got pregnant again but only for it to not pan out.
"Got pregnant again, early 2018. Didn't work out," she said. The musician admitted that it was quite difficult for her to keep a happy face, especially when she was out in the public in the wake of what she had been going through.
Underwood said that after what she thought was another miscarriage, she prayed like never before. She and her hubby have been hoping for a new bundle of joy in the family for a long time. Despite having a difficult year, it seems the new member of the family is here to solve everything.
