Kristen Stewart is one of the bravest stars to admit a mistake in public when she cheated Robert Pattinson. The 28-year-old star even issued a public apology when she was caught with her "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders in 2012. Stewart and Pattinson seemed to have a love story out of a fairy tale when their on-screen romance turned real. However, everything got ruined when the American model got caught cheating with Sanders, per Bravo TV.

Stewart bravely issued a public apology and released a statement after her secret affair with Sanders got exposed. "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," she said.

Stewart added her recklessness put "the most important thing" in her life at risk. The "Cafe Society" star was talking about Pattinson, the person she loved and respected the most. "I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," she ended her note.

However, Stewart did not release a public apology for Sanders' wife, Liberty Ross.

According to Us Weekly, Stewart and Sanders' secret affair started in the filming of "Snow White and the Huntsman" in England and Wales in August 2011. A source told the publication the "Panic Room" actress seemed to be always early at work every day.

They were later spotted together in group dinner with other "Snow White and the Huntsman" cast members in a restaurant in Berlin, Germany, in May 2012. The photographers then caught Stewart and Sanders making out in Los Angeles in July of the same year. They also went on a road trip to look for a more secluded place.

But in the same month, Stewart and Pattinson were still together. They were also seen sweet in Los Angeles and even showed major PDA. They even received their 2012 Teen Choice Award in California with one another and thanked their fans while they held hands.

Later, Us revealed photos of Stewart making out with Sanders. The 47-year-old director's wife then tweeted, "Wow," after the scandalous photographs emerged.

Sander then issued his public apology and released a statement to address the issue. "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," he said. He also wished he and his wife would survive this problem, but they officially got divorced in 2014.
