George Clooney is not getting involved in Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's divorce in any way, despite the claim of a tabloid report. Clooney reportedly attempts to be a "peacemaker" and defuse tensions between the estranged spouses amid their contentious divorce and custody battle. But, this claim has been debunked.
"George has secretly kept in close contact with Brad throughout this ordeal. In recent weeks, however, he has reached out to Angelina personally in the hope that he could talk some sense into her," an alleged insider told Grazia magazine.
The source further said that Clooney told the actress to "do the right thing and get her legal team to settle the divorce amicably without any further mud-slinging," and adds "George is closer to Brad, but he cares about both of them and will do anything to make things right. So far it seems to be falling on deaf ears, as Ange is still adamant about fighting this now that she has a new legal team by her side."
The untraceable tipster concludes that Clooney hopes that he could help Jolie to see the light, and that "she and Brad can reach an amicable agreement that suits both of them - and the kids."
But, according to Gossip Cop, a spokesperson for Clooney tells the claim is "not true" at all. The actor is not involved in Pitt and Jolie's divorce; the publication is just dragging Clooney in the issue because he's friendly with Pitt.
Aside from being co-stars on the movie Ocean's Eleven, Clooney and Pitt were not spotted hanging out these days. Clooney wasn't aware regarding the divorce of the two when it first occurred back in September 2016.
"I didn't know that. Wow," he said when CNN asked him about the split during an interview at the United Nations. "That's a sad story and unfortunate for a family... I feel very sorry to hear that."
So, if Clooney was indeed involved, it's unlikely he wouldn't have known about the divorce of Pitt and Jolie until informed by CNN.
Meanwhile, Grazia also reported in July that Pitt and Jennifer Aniston were meeting up in London. The publications claimed Aniston is "finally moving on" from Justin Theroux in part due to a "rekindled friendship with a very famous ex."
Gossip Cop, however, also busted this claim as Aniston spent the summer in Montreal and Italy filming the Netflix movie Murder Mystery, but never visited U.K., not even once.
