Over a year ago, a publication claimed Ben Affleck had a baby with his now ex-girlfriend Lindsay Shookus. However, Shookus was never seen having a "baby bump" for the past 12 months, making the claim "not true" at all.
On September 19, 2017, RadarOnline sparked the "pregnancy rumors" of Shookus. It was all started when she was seen in Los Angeles wearing a flowy sundress. The publication maintained at that time that Shookus had a "growing baby bump," and further contended that she appeared "curvier" and had a "fairly round belly."
Yet, the outlet ended the article by asking the readers if they think Shookus was "already pregnant." Additionally, the website's sister publication, OK! Magazine, also reported a similar story and quoted another "insider" saying, "There have been whispers that she might be pregnant with Ben's child, and that's why they decided to reveal they were together."
According to Gossip Cop, these sites didn't have any facts to support the story and they just likely based the claim on the photos they have seen. There's also a big difference in wearing a billowy dress and being pregnant.
In fact, Gossip Cop reached out during those times to sources and friends who know Affleck and Shookus. Every person shuts down the claim, saying Shookus was most assuredly not pregnant with Affleck's baby.
And now, a year has already passed and the "Saturday Night Live" producer hasn't clearly given birth.
What's more is that RadarOnline also reported last July that Affleck and Shookus had a "shotgun wedding" in Hawaii, as she was once again pregnant with his (nonexistent) baby. But, the two were spotted drinking at that time while on a double date with Shookus' parents, so it's unlikely they were expecting a baby as she wouldn't be drinking and enjoying alcohol.
Just days after the article was published, the same outlet reported that Jennifer Garner, who is the ex-wife of Affleck, reportedly blocked the wedding of the two by refusing to grant their divorce.
"Ben is trying to speed things along in their divorce but Jen is stalling," said the so-called "source" at that time.
But, as per Gossip Cop, all of these claims have been fabricated, particularly Shookus' pregnancy. In fact, she accepted the award for outstanding variety sketch series at the 2018 Emmys on Monday, and she doesn't really look pregnant at all.
Affleck and Shookus also broke up over the summer after more than a year of dating. And after their split, Affleck then hooked up with Playboy model Shauna Sexton before checking himself into rehab for substance abuse treatment.
