"NCIS" Season 16 is about to hit the small screen next week, and fans may have the chance to meet the women in Leroy Jethro Gibbs' (Mark Harmon) life. Aside from the new rule that Gibbs will impose in the series' return, some of his former wives may also make an appearance.
In an interview with the show's executive producer Frank Cardea, via Celebrity Insider, he talked about Gibbs' storyline in "NCIS" Season 16 and revealed the series would dive into his past relationships. Fans would have the chance to meet a few women in his life as they loved to know everything about him. Its past episodes that featured his former lovers are even always a hit.
But Cardea did not reveal who among his exes would make an appearance in "NCIS" Season 16. There are predictions Darby Stanchfield would visit the show as "Scandal" now concluded. Unfortunately, not all of Gibbs' former wives would come in the series as some of them are already dead, but they could appear in flashbacks.
There are also theories that Gibbs' former wives will convince him to find a new love and settle down. There are rumors Gibbs, and Jacqueline Sloane may become a thing in "NCIS" Season 16. As Sloane is indeed a girlfriend material, it is not far to happen. Although there are words she is not his type but, it may change.
In other "NCIS" Season 16 news, there will be some changes happening in the department. Another executive producer, Steven D. Binder, revealed Gibbs has a new rule to impose this season, and this is going to be a part a big story.
Gibbs has set a lot of rules over the show's past 15 seasons, and they were all used in the story's evolution. A new one always comes along when the team badly needs it. "The rules create themselves, to fit a need in the story," Binder said about the new rule Gibbs would set in "NCIS" Season 16. However, he did not reveal what it would be.
CBS renewed the long-running police procedural television series for a new season in April. Along with this, Harmon signed a new deal to reprise his role as Gibbs in "NCIS" Season 16 that shut down all the false rumors about him. He also stays as one of the show's executive producer, per TVLine.
"NCIS" Season 16 will hit the small screens on September 25 on CBS with a new set of 24 episodes.
