A recent report claims Jennifer Aniston "can't escape" Justin Theroux because they are both tied to a tragic death happened during their honeymoon in 2015. But, this claim has been debunked now.
Aniston and Theroux invited several of their family members and friends to help them celebrate their honeymoon in Bora Bora in August 2015. One of the guests was Joel Silver, who is a movie producer, wherein his 28-year-old personal assistant, Carmel Musgrove, tragically drowned in a lagoon while they were on the trip.
The parents of the late woman filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Silver, and the case is ongoing until now.
Now, NW Magazine claims Aniston is upset as the lawsuit has yet to be settled. She reportedly feels that it's the last thing "tying her" to Theroux.
"Jen desperately wants this tragic situation resolved as soon as possible... The longer this case goes on, the longer she' reminded of her failed relationship with Justin, given that it all happened on their honeymoon," said an alleged insider to the magazine, and added that Aniston and Theroux may be headed for an "uncomfortable reunion" if they're called in as witnesses.
"They may have to face a deposition, which would mean they'd be stuck in a stuffy attorney's office together," the untraceable source said. "But that's the last thing either of them wants."
According to Gossip Cop, the claim of the alleged source of the publication is wrong as Aniston and Theroux left Bora Bora several days before Musgrove's death. The two weren't "witnesses" as they were not on the said island when the tragedy happened.
And if ever they have to give testimony, it's impossible for them to reunite as a lawyer would likely want to hear each of their stories individually.
Regardless, a rep for Aniston said to Gossip Cop that the claim of the tabloid isn't true, and noted that the wrongful death lawsuit "has nothing to do" with the actress and her estranged husband.
This isn't the first time NW Magazine involved Aniston in a legal battle that has nothing to do with her. Just last month, the tabloid was busted for claiming that the actress was going to a court with Brad Pitt to help him win back custody of his kids.
"Jen: 'I'll Help Brad Get His Kids Back!'" the headline of the outlet declared.
But, this claim has also been debunked and was only fabricated.
