Popular travel vlogger Nuseir Yassin or also known as Nas Daily visited Hong Kong to show the city's characteristics and how it recovers after Typhoon Mangkhut hits the city by creating videos.

The 26-year-old Arab-Israeli becomes famous for making one-minute travel videos on Facebook on a page called Nas Daily. He will be staying in the city for six days.

"The frustration with the government, the frustration with just life here is pretty high," Yassin said and cited examples of high rent, the "China situation," and the humid weather.

He traveled across the city on Tuesday to gather footage of fallen trees and damaged buildings for his latest video to show how Hong Kong recovers from Typhoon Mangkhut, the most powerful storm ever hit the city since 1946.

Yassin also met his more than 200 fans.

"In Hong Kong, I think, one of the cool things is how it doesn't feel there was a crazy typhoon a week ago, it just doesn't feel like it," he said.

According to the South China Morning Post, the travel vlogger will also be producing a video regarding expensive rent in Hong Kong and published a clip on the tradition of villain hitting (da siu yan in Cantonese), wherein old ladies are cursing people upon request.

But, Yassin noted he would steer clear of politics and the relationship between Hong Kong and the mainland as he wanted to rather stay "humble" since he was just a tourist.

"The politics of Hong Kong is not worth the headache," he said. "Every time you engage in a political debate, there is a guaranteed headache from the comment section, from the reaction from everything."

He said he wanted to focus on making the people feel more proud of their town by showing the unique good things in Hong Kong

"I want it to be less on the revolutionary side and more on the cool stuff happening in Hong Kong," he said.

On Tuesday afternoon, Yassin met his fans at Hong Kong Park, and they said he always offered new perspectives on the world.

"He just said that the way Hongkongers speak is very negative. He can tell us the special things which we did not know about in every city," said Gloria Liu, a 21-year-old said local university student. She also said that she has been watching Yassin's videos for about two years now.

The messages brought by Yassin were also thoughtful, said Bibianna Chan Chi-ying, a 25-year-old who works in the hotel and tourism industry.

She noted that although he made a video on dog eating culture in China, he said that those who are judgmental about this practice probably have double standards as people around the world consume other animals.

Another video on "some strange traditions" belittling girls also struck her.

"It makes me reflect on whether there is gender discrimination in developed cities which [we are] unconscious about," she said.
