A recent report claims the split of Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux is "dividing Hollywood" because their famous friends are choosing sides and their teams are trying to keep them apart. But, this claim has been debunked, and is completely "untrue."
On September 15, Aniston went to Netflix's pre-Emmys party, but Theroux wasn't present at the event although he's also part of the new Netflix series "Maniac." According to Grazia, the reason why Theroux wasn't at the event because his estranged wife insisted he should not be there.
"Jen made it clear that she would prefer that Justin was not in attendance. It's an ongoing headache for their respective teams as Jen is doing increasingly more TV work on Netflix and so their paths are inevitably entwined going forward," an alleged source said to the magazine.
But, according to Gossip Cop, Theroux attended the world premiere of "Maniac" in London two days before the Emmys party. He was back in New York City later that week to attend another screening of the show.
Still, the outlet contends it's a "logistical nightmare" to keep Aniston and Theroux apart, not just for their teams but for their mutual friends too. The tipster further asserted their celebrity friends "will be showing who has remained loyal to whom, especially when they're out on the showbiz party circuit in the months to come."
The publication noted that the celebrities on "Team Jen" include Jason Bateman, Adam Sandler, Ellen DeGeneres, and George Clooney, while those "Team Justin" include Aubrey Plaza, Emma Stone, and Sienna Miller.
"Justin is aware that Jen is being quite territorial when it comes to her clique," the untraceable source added, and concluded, "Everyone involved is hoping that over time this is going to be less of a thorny issue."
The famous names mentioned, however, were already spotted with either Theroux or Aniston over the previous months. The claim that the two are "dividing Hollywood" is not true at all. A rep for Aniston also noted the claim of the tabloid is "all made-up."
Previously, Theroux also said in a New York Times profile there's "no animosity" between him and Aniston.
"Neither one of us is looking to throw hatchets at each other," he told the publication, and added, "It's amicable. It's boring, but, you know, we respected each other enough that it was as painless as it could be."
Theroux also said that he and Aniston are "very proud" as they remained cordial throughout their divorce.
