The fan-favorite duo, Rick and Morty, will return to the small screen with "Rick and Morty" Season 4. The animated series' home network, Adult Swim, recently ordered a whopping set of 70 episodes, which means fans are about to see more seasons of the show.

Adult Swim confirmed the coming of "Rick and Morty" Season 4 in a released statement. "Adult Swim has made a long-term overall deal with the creators that will include seventy new episodes of 'Rick and Morty,'" the network revealed, per OtakuKart.

The animated series' previous season had 10 episodes, so "Rick and Morty" Season 4 would probably have the same. As Adult Swim ordered for 70 episodes, it might be safe to assume the show would have seven seasons more with 10 episodes each.

However, there are rumors "Rick and Morty" Season 4 will carry more episodes than usual. The show's creator Dan Harmon recently told Entertainment Weekly that the show's creative team wanted the new season to have 14 episodes. However, the news is yet to be confirmed.

Talking about "Rick and Morty" Season 4's production, Inverse reported Harmon recently announced on Instagram that the animated series' art team is now starting to draw the new season. Earlier news, on the other hand, revealed the voice recording is already in the works.

In a comparison of the new and previous seasons, "Rick and Morty" Season 4 may come out before the year ends. Mr. Poopybutthole even teased the new season may air around Christmas time. "I might even have a big, white Santa Claus beard!" he said in the post-credits scene of Season 3.

However, Mr. Poopybutthole also said "Rick and Morty" Season 4 would not be out for "a really long time." So the animated series' may not hit the small screen this year. Adult Swim is also yet to reveal the show's official release date.

Adult Swim renewed Harmon and Justin Roiland's animated series to have "Rick and Morty" Season 4 in May. So even if the show's creators and its writers already have the idea how Rick and Morty's new adventures would flow, they would still have to undergo excruciating works from drawing to animating.

The animated series' writer Ryan Ridley, on the other hand, predicted in January that "Ricky and Morty" Season 4 will not be out until late 2019. Unfortunately, his prediction is the "only straightforward estimation" to shut down that patiently awaiting fans.
