Rapper RM (formerly Rap Monster), the leader of the K-pop boy band BTS, admitted that he got nervous during his roughly six-minute speech at the U.N. Youth Strategy Conference at the 73rd United Nations General Assembly in New York on Monday, Sept. 24.

The seven-member boy band was the first ever K-pop group to speak at the United Nations for the launching of UNICEF's "Generation Unlimited," a global activity that focuses on youth education and empowerment.

On behalf of the group, RM took the stage and candidly talked about his struggles, revealing it was at the age of nine or ten when he started doubting himself and his abilities. He added that creating music was how he found his strength.

"I had one sanctuary, and that was music," the 24-year-old rapper and songwriter said, as quoted by Refinery 29. "There was a small voice in me that said, 'Wake up, man, and listen to yourself!' But it took me a long time to hear music calling my name," he added.

RM, then, urged the youths to find their confidence and speak out on global issues. He added: "I urge you to speak yourself. No matter who you are, where you're from, your skin color or gender identity, speak yourself, find your name and find your voice by speaking yourself."

Following their appearance at United Nations' 73rd General Assembly, BTS - RM, J-Hope, Jin, Jungkook, Jimin, Suga and V - took some time out of their busy schedules to chat and dance with Jimmy Fallon on NBC's "The Tonight Show." There, the boy band's main rapper admitted he got nervous while delivering his speech.

"I was like so nervous," RM said regarding his speech at United Nations' 73rd General Assembly, as cited by Billboard. "I was holding up the paper and you could see my hands shaking," he added.

The members of BTS, then, showed off their swag as they do the Fortnite dance challenge. After their appearance on "The Tonight Show," the K-pop boy band will also appear on ABC's "Good Morning America."

BTS will, then, perform two sold-out shows at Newark's Prudential Center in New Jersey on Sept. 28 and 29. Then on Oct. 2-3, the group will hold another concert, dubbed "BTS World Tour: Love Yourself," at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. It will be followed by another show on Oct. 6 at Citi Field in New York City.
