Taylor Swift is reportedly scared of Cats co-star Ian McKellen because he is always acting like a "diva" on set. The two will be part of the upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway musical, and the report claims McKellen is "a grumpy old man who's throwing his weight around the set." Now, this claim has been debunked.

"Ian is short on patience in his old age. The main problem is the wardrobe and makeup - he refuses to sit in a chair for five hours a day before filming and have his face painted," a so-called "insider" said to Globe.

The alleged source of the magazine further asserted, "Everyone is scrambling to keep him happy because he won't hesitate to walk if anything is not to his satisfaction. Even superstar Taylor is walking on eggshells."

According to Gossip Cop, the claim of the outlet does not make any sense from the beginning. First, McKellen is aware he would have to wear heavy makeup and prosthetics before signing the contract. So, if he's really acting like a "diva" and "just sitting in a makeup chair," he would never accept the project in the first place.

Another problem with the publication's claim is that Cats does not start filming until November. Hence, as per Gossip Cop, the magazine doesn't even bother to make research before publishing such claims.

McKellen also had an interview with Entertainment Weekly, where he shares he is "open to all sorts of experiences."

"I'm playing Gus the theater cat, and he has a song, and I'm learning how to sing and move in a feline way. I shall be doing that in December and January. It's all being filmed in London," said the 79-year-old actor.

So, the claim about Swift being scared of McKellen isn't true at all as the two hasn't begun working yet.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time a claim had been debunked regarding the involvement of Swift in the highly-anticipated musical adaptation.

Gossip Cop also busted the sister publication of the outlet, RadarOnline, last month. The magazine claimed the hectic schedule of Swift in shooting the Cats movie may cause a split between her and boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

"This project is going to be demanding and intense and Taylor will have to spend a lot of time throwing herself into the rehearsals and grueling filming schedule," said the alleged source of the magazine.

But, the report failed to mention the couple already proved they are quite adept at balancing their personal and professional lives.
