In spite of being divorced for three years, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert got surrounded by a lot of rumors. There are claims the two are in a race to get married over a year ago, but the time proves there is no truth in this story at all.
According to Gossip Cop, Shelton and Lambert were never in a race to get married to their respective new partners after their divorce. The publication noted this rumor only came to life as they have their significant others at the time.
After a year when the rumor came out, the time proved it is a fabricated story. A gossip magazine claimed Lambert and Shelton were in a competition on who would get married first. Allegedly, the former member of Pistol Annies wanted to be the first one to remarry before her ex-husband.
Lambert was allegedly confident that she would be the first to get married again at the time as she and her then-boyfriend, Anderson East, planned to run away and elope at the end of 2017. However, the two called it quits in April.
On the other hand, Shelton and his girlfriend for three years, Gwen Stefani, are often surrounded by marriage rumors. They are always reportedly talking about tying the knot. When the former No Doubt frontwoman recently graced the "Ellen DeGeneres Show," she even said they are thinking about marriage all the time.
So there is no truth to Shelton and Lambert's alleged competition. It is, obviously, a made-up story.
Meanwhile, Shelton and Lambert called it quits in 2015. Nicki Swift reported that their relationship was surrounded by cheating accusations and disagreements that affected their marriage. So what was the real reason behind the cutest country couple's failed romance?
Lambert and Shelton first met when the latter was still married to his first wife, Kaynette Gern, in 2005. They performed in CMT's "100 Greatest Duets" concert. From there, the sparks between them started immediately.
However, there were reports Lambert grew tired of Shelton when he had to spend a lot of time in Los Angeles to film "The Voice." The 34-year-old singer took great measures to assure they would spend time together by flying in and out of Tinseltown to be with him even just for a day. But she got her own scheduled tours, too, that greatly affected their romance.
Sources said that although Lambert would take the great lengths to visit Shelton in Los Angeles, the 42-year-old television personality would never do the same for her. He rarely visited her in Oklahoma that made her feel like an "abandoned wife."
Anyhow, Shelton and Lambert are now happy with their respective lives. The "The Voice" judge is enjoying his three years, and counting, romance with Stefani while Lambert affirmed she is happily single.
