TvN released the first script reading of the upcoming series "Memories of the Alhambra" on October 7 on their official YouTube channel. Hyun Bin, Park Shin Hye, and Chanyeol showed their acting skills during the reading.
At the start of the video, the crews and actors of the drama series gathered in the meeting room. Then, Park Shin Hye jokingly said to Hyun Bin that Chanyeol is her younger brother. After that, the cast started to introduce themselves and what character they will be portraying.
Ahn Gil Ho, the director of the drama series, addresses the cast by saying, "I hope this can be a drama where we help fill each other's difficulties."
Meanwhile, writer Song Jae Jung noted, "I hope we won't lose our strength and keep pushing till the end of the drama."
Hyun Bin looks assertive and fierce as he will be playing the role of Yoo Jin Woo, who is a CEO of an investment company. He was a previous doctor of engineering wherein he's very talented in developing games. His character seems to be cynical, adventurous, and fearless as he says, "No need to thank me. I bought it at that price because it was worth that much. I'm a businessman; I don't waste my time." Then, he got angry and shouted, "If I lose this, it's all your fault!"
Park Shin Hye, on the other hand, will portray the role of Jung Hee Joo. She is a hostel owner and a former guitarist who went to Spain to further her studies. She has a clumsy but unique personality. The whole cast burst into laughter through her lines as she says, "You've seen me perform? Where?" She also revealed her honest characteristic by saying, "My dad's been through a similar fraud situation." Her unique charm also shows as she's saying aloud, "Calm down. Don't get worked up. Don't make any mistakes. Stay calm."
Meanwhile, EXO's Park Chanyeol will be playing the role of Jung Se Joo, who's the younger brother of Jung Hee Joo. He is a troublemaker, but also a genius programmer. He suffered from trauma during his childhood, then he shuts himself up, and he only communicates with his sister. He showed his mysterious character as he slyly and subtly delivers his lines, and calmly asks, "Is this Yoo Jin Woo's cell phone number? You know CEO Cha Hyung Seok right? You guys are friends."
Park Shin Hye and Hyun Bin also revealed a moment where their characters are talking to each other, wherein Hyun Bin asked if there are any empty rooms. Park Shin Hye's response made him fluster as she said there are no rooms except for a single room on the sixth floor, but the elevator is not working. She then recommends him to find another place to stay.
According to Soompi, "Memories Of The Alhambra" will premiere in December. Park Shin Hye and Hyun Bin's characters will slowly develop, and they will start to wonder more about each other's strange personalities.
