A new report claims Joe Alwyn helped Taylor Swift to overcome her insecurities, as well as her recent stepped "back into the spotlight." This story, however, has been debunked and "false" on several levels.

According to Life & Style magazine, Swift only agreed to open the 2018 American Music Awards because of Alwyn. The outlet maintains the British actor was responsible for helping "Taylor overcome her insecurities." It never mentions the cause of Swift's alleged insecurities.

The article then contends how Swift has kept a lower profile for a while now, which allows her relationship with Alwyn to grow. Then, the alleged source of the outlet noted how the singer recently attended the New York premiere of Alwyn's film, The Favourite.

"Taylor's finally ready to return to the spotlight," said the tipster.

But the truth is, according to Gossip Cop, Swift hasn't been in the spotlight and wasn't often visible to the public because she hasn't had an album to promote in the past three years. The singer wanted her relationship with her boyfriend to grow without the glare of the media as well. A source close to Swift also said the story is "false."

For Alwyn's part, he acknowledged in a British Vogue interview that they've been "successfully very private" on purpose.

"I think we have been successfully very private, and that has now sunk in for people," he said.

The claim he's helping Swift to "overcome her insecurities" to perform at the AMAs is total nonsense, nor had any "insecurities" about performing in general or stepping out into the spotlight.

Swift has sung in front of millions of fans during her Reputation Stadium Tour in support of her latest album since May, which just wrapped up the U.S. leg before it heads next week to Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

Meanwhile, Life & Style has been making claims regarding Swift's personal life. For instance, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid last June for claiming Swift and Alwyn were planning to get married in August in Nashville.

"They're talking about tying the knot when she's home in Nashville at the end of August," said the so-called source at that time and further added the two "want to keep the wedding under the radar," even though a purported "insider" is leaking private details.

However, two months have already passed, and the couple never got married. Hence, this latest claim about the Brit actor and singer is also wrong.
