"Red Dead Redemption 2" is nearing its official release and gamers are now wondering what to expect. For those who may have missed it, the game will now be set 12 years before the original game setting the tone for new adventures in a throwback kind of way.
Some have already gotten the opportunity to try out "Red Dead Redemption 2" and apparently there are a lot of details and features to look forward to. Overall, the action-western game is looming as a worthy sequel.
For those who missed the game script, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will focus on the outlaw life of the Van der Linde gang. According to Game Spot, the twist all starts after a robbery in Blackwater goes bad and the gang ends up scampering, trying to survive not only the law but rival gangs as well. It thus becomes a battle of survival with the main protagonists.
Unlike in the original "Red Dead Redemption" where gamers played the role of John Marston, the sequel will have Arthur Morgan instead. He is Dutch's right-hand man and enforcer, tasked to handle the daily duties of keeping the gang in check. Morgan is quite handy with picking up various jobs to ensure everyone is well fed and kept in good spirits. However, he will eventually do some sleuthing on Dutch and see if he still has a place in the gang.
Aside from the game plot, there is plenty to look forward to in the game. There is a new system at work. This includes light survival systems meaning gamers need to be on their feet and pay attention to stuff like body temperature, gun maintenance, and meat expiration. All these were not present in the first installment.
Other than that, there are also game clothing customization and gun functionality. One can use them to fire warning shots and can also jam or be downgraded. Similar to how a player monitors his character's game performance, the guns need to be taken care off in the same way one would in real life, Game Spot said.
The same goes in-game materials that can rot over time. Hunted or killed animals can rot in time and give off a foul odor that may attract vermins or turn off people one comes across. Cleaning, feeding, and grooming are likewise important, making "Red Dead Redemption 2" more realistic as games should be.
Players can also lose their hat in the game, meaning most should make sure their belongings are well-kept. Folks who want to capture shots of their adventure can do so since they get a camera. Stage shows are also something to look forward to and one can even get on stage to dance (if they want to).
These and plenty more are in store for "Red Dead Redemption 2" which officially launches on Oct. 26.
