Sorry, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson fans. A new report revealed that the two have split and called off their engagement after a five-month committed relationship.
It came to light when a source close to Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson revealed to TMZ that the two decided to end their engagement over the weekend as they felt the timing was not right. The source added that the former couple still has a whole lot of love for each other despite the split.
Not long after their split made noise online, Pete Davidson's social media accounts were no longer active. Ariana Grande, on the other hand, had not deleted photos and videos of her ex-fiancé from her accounts.
It can be recalled that Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson started dating in May, shortly after their respective splits from rapper Mac Miller and comedian Cazzie David. A month later, it was reported that the two were engaged to be married after the actor-comedian popped the question with a massive 3-carat pear-shaped diamond ring (worth around $100,000).
Since then, Ariana Grande has been busy preparing for her much-awaited wedding to Pete Davidson. At the time, the "God is a Woman" hitmaker said they would exchange vows sometime in 2019 since they need ample time to plan for it.
"My friends and I, my mom and everybody have been brainstorming and sharing ideas and stuff. It's really fun," Ariana Grande said in an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America," as quoted by Seventeen. "I work so much, I've never spent this much time or energy planning something personal that feeds my soul so much and my heart. I'm gonna cry. I'm just so excited," she added.
After she marries Pete Davidson, she plans to change her name to Ariana Grande-Davidson and will eventually just go by "Ariana" as her stage name. The 25-year-old singer and songwriter also admitted that she wants to have three kids with the actor-comedian.
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson's split comes shortly after the former announced that she would be taking a much-needed break from the music scene for an indeterminate amount of time. She will reportedly use this period to spend more time with her family and loved ones and work on new music at the same time.
The award-winning singer is currently struggling with anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after a suicide bomber killed 22 concert-goers and injured more than 800 in a terrorist attack at the Manchester show of her "Dangerous Woman Tour" last May 2017.
