A new report claims Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi decided to live apart so they can save their marriage. This claim, however, has been debunked and confirmed to be false.
Last week, DeGeneres and de Rossi bought a home in Beverly Hills worth $15 million, and according to Life & Style magazine, the property is not a new investment nor a new marital home. The so-called source of the tabloid contends the house will be "an escape pad for Portia," and she will be staying there two nights per week so they can give each other a space to strengthen and save their marriage.
The untraceable insider noted DeGeneres and de Rossi already told their friends that they wouldn't be using the house as a permanent base as of the moment.
"It will be a place Portia can go on her nights off, as well as a place they can meet for monthly date nights as they try out having a more separated marriage," continues the alleged tipster.
Then, the outlet asserted that the couple decided to make a new living arrangement because DeGeneres is "very controlling" and de Rossi could not stand it for too long. The TV host allegedly has jealousy problems which caused them to have frequent "nasty" fights, and their arguments are only getting worse as time goes by.
The unnamed source also maintains DeGeneres often accuses de Rossi of being too close with other women, so she decided to move as she couldn't stand living under the same roof with the TV host.
"They're barely speaking behind closed doors," the insider said and added de Rossi thinks the only way to save their marriage is to get some space and distance before she "explodes." The outlet then concluded their pals are concerned and worried as she might file for divorce when she could not take it anymore.
But, according to Gossip Cop, the claim of the article is not true at all, and in fact, DeGeneres posted a photo on Instagram last week while kissing de Rossi to celebrate National Coming Out Day. The TV host also posted a photo on Instagram in August as a tribute to de Rossi, honoring their 10th year wedding anniversary.
Entertainment Tonight also published an article saying DeGeneres and de Rossi has an "unbreakable relationship," and in June, de Rossi shuts down rumors claiming they are heading for a divorce. And with the latest issue, a source close to DeGeneres confirmed the spouses weren't living apart, nor trying to save their marriage and their new property is not an "escape place" for de Rossi.
