Country singer Blake Shelton was a no-show at this year's CMT Artists of the Year for a reason - he reportedly does not want the spotlight taken away from the female honorees.

It came to light when a source close to Blake Shelton has shut down speculations that the 42-year-old singer-songwriter skipped out this year's CMT Artists of the Year last Wednesday, Oct. 17 to avoid his ex-wife, singer Miranda Lambert.

"The night was devoted to women and Blake [Shelton] would have felt that the focus would be taken away from all the women being honored by being there so that is why he stayed away," the source explained to Hollywood Life. "If Blake spent any time worrying about Miranda Lambert then he would either still be with her, or he definitely would be without Gwen."

The source went on to say that Blake Shelton has completely moved on from his failed romance with Miranda Lambert. The respect and love he has for current girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, is also more defined by not worrying or thinking about his ex-wife.

It can be recalled Blake Shelton, and Miranda Lambert started dating in 2006. After five years, they tied the knot at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas. In mid-2015, the two announced their decision to go their separate ways.

Since then, Blake Shelton began dating his fellow "The Voice" judge, Gwen Stefani. Miranda Lambert, on the other hand, is currently single after her failed romance with Turnpike Troubadours frontman, Evan Felker.

Instead, Miranda Lambert is keeping herself busy with several projects. She and bandmates Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley will release their third studio album, "Interstate Gospel," on Nov. 2. It will feature 14 songs, including the already released singles "Best Years of My Life" and "Got My Name Changed Back."

Before the release of their third studio album, the trio - dubbed Pistol Annies - will first hold three intimate concerts - they will hold a show at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Oct. 25, before having another performance at the Town Hall in New York City on Nov. 2. They will, then, wrap it up with another show at the Novo in Los Angeles on Nov. 7.
