Kanye West decided to go on an African tour, as he hoped that doing so would help him complete his upcoming album "Yandhi." During his stay there, he was able to meet the president of Uganda named Yoweri Museveni. The latter, who was given a pair of sneakers by Ye, took to social media to announce their rendezvous.

According to QZ, Kanye West was exploring the outskirt of Uganda in a neon green sweater. He also played a couple of his songs to the Ugandan orphans before he gave out a bunch of white Yeezy shoes to each kid. West, who was with his wife Kim Kardashian, took some videos and pictures of children dancing while wearing his sneakers.

Kanye West and Kim rode a presidential helicopter, which was courtesy of the president himself, to get to the orphanage. The Ugandan president also hosted the Kanye and Kim, whom he commended and praised for helping the country boost its tourism.

As mentioned, Kanye West gave president Museveni a gift, which is a pair of Yeezys. The American rapper also promised that he would soon open a world-class hospitality school, which he would help build to serve the entire East African region.

Not all people in Uganda liked the arrival of Kanye West. One of the country's biggest musicians criticized Kim Kardashian's husband and his meeting with the president. In reality, though, president Museveni has been refusing to step down from the position for more than three decades now.

For Bobbi Wine (real name Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu), who is a musician and lawmaker, said that Kanye West's visit to the country was nothing but "immoral." He added that the Ye was merely there to "rub shoulders" with the country's president, The Guardian reports.

The 74-year-old president has been in the position since 1986. This was a year when Kanye West could barely understand anything because he was just 9. Museveni is Africa's third longest serving president. For him to continue ruling and move past his current term, he spearheaded a change in the country's constitution, particularly the presidential age limit.

Bobbi Wine first made a name as a musician, with songs deeply rooted in politics. Eventually, he got elected and posted a great threat to the aforementioned president. He started galvanizing all the frustration that people, particularly the youth, in Uganda has for the president.  For him, Kanye West's his visit to the country does not do any good to the country.
