Reports suggest that Selena Gomez had a hard time moving forward after hearing about Justin Bieber's marriage with Hailey Baldwin. The news was so much for her that she reportedly decided to distance herself from her friends and loved ones.

One could say that Selena Gomez tried to keep it together upon learning about Bieber and Baldwin's marriage. The 26-year-old singer-songwriter had a relationship with the "What Do You Mean?" singer in the past. They got back together, but their renewed relationship did not last. Fast forward today, Bieber is happily married to the 21-year-old model Baldwin.

According to Hollywood Life, Selena Gomez started to fall apart behind the scenes, suggesting that the marriage of the pair was "a bitter pill to swallow. The sour said, "Justin was her first love and they shared something special. Of course, she was jealous."

As already reported in the past, Selena Gomez found herself hospitalized twice in September. The most recent one was when her white blood cell count significantly dropped, though it was diagnosed as a result of her life-threatening kidney transplant last year. Unfortunately, in her second hospitalization, the American music artist suffered an "emotional breakdown," which prompted her to undergo a mental health treatment.

It holds that Selena Gomez tried to accept the fact that Bieber, who her long-term on-again-off-again partner, got married to Baldwin. Perhaps this is somehow because the two got engaged just a couple of months after Bieber and Gomez split.

Selena Gomez indeed loved Bieber. And while she was taking her time trying to process everything, her ex-boyfriend seemed to have moved on quickly. International Business Times reports that Justin was special to her, especially since he was her first boyfriend. This also means that, according to the source, she was jealous, which could have fueled her to distance herself from her closest friends and loved ones.

The source added that when Selena Gomez started missing, her friends know that something was wrong. Gomez seemingly hinted that she has been having a not-so-nice couple of months. Eventually, she quit social media and got admitted to the hospital.

As of this writing, Selena Gomez is believed to be doing much better at the mental health facility that she is in. Reports confirm that the singer is on her way to getting better, though no official comments about her health status have surfaced just yet.
