Julia Roberts is known as the rom-com queen of Hollywood, thanks to the immense success of 1990's "Pretty Woman," 1997's "My Best Friend's Wedding," 1999's "Notting Hill," "1999's "Runaway Bride" and 2010's "Eat Pray Love." However, fans should not expect to see her starring in a romantic-comedy film in the future.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Julia Robert explained why she no longer star in a romantic-comedy film. She feels she has had too much life experience to convincingly star in a romantic-comedy film at this point.

"Unless we [play] the parents of the people that are rom-com-ing," Julia Roberts said. "There came the point in my career where people thought I had turned on romantic comedies, which I love them, I love to be in them, I love to watch them. But sometimes, they just don't work at a certain point of life experience," she added.

Julia Roberts went on to explain that the disconnection happens when the viewers no longer believe the actors are naïve and emotionally immature as rom-com characters usually are.

Nonetheless, fans would be delighted to know that Julia Roberts will be returning to the small screen soon via Amazon Video's "Homecoming." In the psychological thriller series, the 50-year-old actress plays Heidi Bergman, a caseworker at a secret government facility that aims to help soldiers reacclimatize to public life.

Julia Roberts will be joined by Stephan James as Walter Cruz, a young military veteran and client of the Homecoming facility who is eager to rejoin civilian life; Bobby Cannavale as Colin Belfast, Heidi Bergman's supervisor; Shea Whigham as Thomas Carrasco, a bureaucrat from the Department of Defense investigating the Homecoming Transitional Support Center and Alex Karpovsky as Craig, an employee at the said secret government facility.

Also starring in "Homecoming" are actors Sissy Spacek, Jacob Pitts, Ayden Mayeri, Brooke Bloom, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Sydney Poitier, Jeremy Allen White, Hong Chau, Fran Kranz, and Dermot Mulroney. It is set to premiere on Nov. 2 on Amazon Video.

In addition to Amazon Video's "Homecoming," Julia Roberts will also headline Peter Hedges' drama film, "Ben Is Back." In the film, she plays the loving and supportive mother of Ben Burns (Lucas Hedges).

"Ben Is Back," which also stars Kathryn Newton, Courtney B. Vance, Alexandra Park, Rachel Bay Jones, Michael Esper, and David Zaldivar, is set to hit theaters across the United States on Dec. 7, 2018.
